As we mentioned as part of the customer SS verification process, it must include the price breakdown showing taxes and fees. There are multiple types of taxes and fees that can be found, such as (VAT โ Sales tax โ ETC). Our focus here is on four types of taxes and fees:
– Hotel Deposit / Room deposit
– City Tax
– Tourism tax
– Municipality fee
- Hotel Deposit / Room deposit:ย
We include this in our quotation as a separate parameter, but we donโt include it in the total quotation price.
- City Tax / Tourism Fee / Municipality fee:ย
Usually, one or more of the above-mentioned taxes & fees will be mentioned in the price breakdown. With GTO, we have a rule on how to add it to the quotation file.
**** (Note: If we have more than one tax or fee and they are to be paid locally/ at the hotel, then each one is calculated separately and mentioned separately within the quotation as follows):
- Fee or tax amount is LESS than 4% of total price & mentioned in Tripiology or by the reservations team:ย
>>> We include the fee / tax amount in the total price for the quotation and mention it as a separate parameter in the quotation file.ย
ย
- Fee or tax amount is LESS than 4% of total price & NOT mentioned in Tripiology or by the reservations team:ย
>>> We include the fee / tax amount in the total price for the quotation only, and DO NOT add it as a separate parameter in the quotation file.ย
ย
- Fee or tax amount is MORE than 4% of total price :ย
>>> We DO NOT include the fee / tax amount in the total price for the quotation and add it as a separate parameter in the quotation file.ย
*** Note: We always round the tax / fee amount up to the nearest 5 GBP.
EX: city tax amount is 46 GBP, then we tell the customer that theyโll need to pay a city tax at the hotel of approximately 50 GBP.
